From the days of small beginnings, The
Potter’s House Family Worship Center has grown to be a diverse
charismatic body of believers pursuing the purposes of God. The
Potter’s House conducted its first service at the Union Township
Hall on July 23, 1986. This began an eight year journey of
renting facilities for services. Stories abound over these early
years of salvation, healing, and relationships being forged in
trials and triumphs.
Property was purchased in 1991 to build a
permanent structure. The church was ecstatic over the purchase
of the property and anticipated immediately building but God had
another plan. It was still two years before construction would
begin. God was building but it wasn’t a physical structure, it
was His people. God was forming faith in the hearts of His
church and when it was time to move forward He spoke, “Build
debt free.” WOW! At this point the church couldn’t even pay off
the property yet alone construct a building. But God had spoken
and God is true to His word. One year later the church moved
into their new facility debt free and continued to complete
sections of the building as finances arrived. God had performed
a series of miracles that caused His people to give HIM praise.
With the new permanent facility came a
greater identity and opportunities to minister to our community.
The outreach to the hungry grew and special gatherings for
worship and training started happening. All the while, God
continued to add people to His church.
Since the original property purchase and
building construction, the church has purchased a duplex which
houses the students in Vessels of Honor School of Ministry,
eight additional acres of land, and built two additions to
enlarge the facilities.
In 2002 The Potter’s House Family Worship
Center established a new strategic alliance with
Messenger
Fellowship International and in 2005
developed a new purpose statement. These two changes brought a greater clarity of direction.
The phrase “Apostolic Center” began to be used within the wider
body of Christ. The Apostolic Center would equip and send
people forth into their divine purpose. This put a term on what
was in the DNA of The Potter’s House for years. The Potter’s
House Family Worship Center is called to train people for His
purposes. |
